o What is Soprano ICE?
Alma Soprano was designed specifically for laser hair removal. This
advanced laser can yield favorable outcomes on virtually any part of the
body. For example, providers have used this Alma laser to help patients get
rid of hair on the legs, chest, arms, back, bikini area, and arm pits, among
others.
o How does it work?
The Alma Soprano removes unwanted hair by targeting by targeting the
melanin within the hair follicle and heating it up to the point of damage.
o Who is a good candidate?
Alma Soprano ICE is safe for all skin types. Many earlier laser technologies
for hair removal can cause skin discoloration, especially in patients with
darker skin tones. However, because of the unique technology behind the
Alma Soprano, the hair removal treatments are safe for all skin types and
can be performed any time of year.
o How many treatments are required?
The typical laser hair removal patient will need 5-8 treatment sessions,
spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart, to target all of the hair follicles in the
treatment area. Multiple treatment sessions are necessary because hair on
the body grows in cycles, and while some follicles may be growing hair, others
may be in a resting phase. Because the laser targets melanin in the hair, the
follicle must be in a growth phase in order to be targeted effectively.
o How long does each treatment take?
The duration of the treatment session will depend on the size of the
treatment area. For a medium body area we typically schedule 30 minutes.
o Does it hurt?
Because of the specialized cooling technology, patients feel virtually no pain
or discomfort during the procedure. Of course, this will vary from patient to
patient, based on individual sensitivities.
o What is the downtime?
Some patients may experience mild redness or skin sensitivity after the
procedure. However, these side effects are typically mild, and do not cause
noticeable discomfort.
