    **Volunteers under the age of 18 remain under the sole care, control and supervision of their accompanying registered volunteer parent or guardian. LCHS, Inc. is not responsible or liable for any damages or injury sustained by a minor while volunteering with their volunteer parent or guardian.**

  • The Volunteer shall:

    1. Expect from LCHS, Inc. appropriate training and support to perform volunteer duties.

    2. Bring credit to LCHS, Inc. and any fund-raising involved by my public demeanor.

    3. Put the LCHS, Inc. mission above personal gain or aggrandizement.

    4. Avoid even the appearance of any criminal offense or misconduct, especially in reference to the treatment of animals.

    5. Donate my services to LCHS, Inc. without thought of potential compensation, other remuneration or benefits, or future employment.

    6. Assure all communication with the public presents the organization in a positive light. Negative posts on social media will not be tolerated. Concerns, complaints or issues will be brought to the attention of the Volunteer Coordinator or Executive Director.

    7. Refrain from making public statements on behalf of LCHS, Inc. unless by way of a LCHS, Inc. approved public communication.

    8. Treat staff, other volunteers, and visitors with kindness, respect and dignity. Harassment or abusive, racist, discriminatory behavior, verbal or physical, will not be tolerated.

    9. Demonstrate the utmost compassion and care with animals. Never strike an animal, or handle or treat an animal in such a way that may be construed as rough or abusive.

    10. Hold LCHS, Inc. harmless for any injury(s) or damage to personal property I might sustain, specifically including the handling of animals, during the course of my volunteer activities.

    11. Release LCHS, Inc. from any and all losses, damages, and liabilities arising from my volunteer work or the animals.

    12. Keep confidential any information, including but not limited to, internal LCHS, Inc. activities, proprietary organizational information, any information relating to donors, adopters, customers or fellow volunteers obtained at LCHS, Inc.

    13. Hold myself accountable for the volunteer commitments I undertake, and communicate to LCHS, Inc. if I am unable to perform them or no longer wish to volunteer with LCHS, Inc.

    14. Recognize that LCHS, Inc. may terminate my services as a Volunteer at any time.

    15. Follow all LCHS, Inc. rules, policies, and procedures, as presented to me.
