  • City of Newcastle Joining Form

  •  Welcome to the City of Newcastle joining form!

We are excited that you're interested in getting a young person started on their Scouting journey. Using this form we will figure out which Section your young person should join based on their age, as well as collect some personal information for future contact.

Upon submission, your information will be sent to the GLV (Group Lead Volunteer) of that Group to handle from there.

Please note that our GLVs are volunteers, and require time to process requests and experessions of interest. It may take a little while before you hear back from them.

  • Squirrels – 4 to 6 years

Please note that Squirrels are a relatively new Section in Scouting. As such, there aren't that many Dreys (groups) available in City of Newcastle. We will attempt to find a place for your young person, but cannot guarantee instant access.

We’ve started opening a new provision for four to six year olds called Squirrels, to help young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it's most needed.

Every week, Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activitiesSquirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.

The one hour sessions will be a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.

Sessions will be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. Of course, none of it would be possible without the support of the amazing leaders who plan and deliver such an inspiring programme.

Learn more about the programme of work to support this age group and the reasons behind Squirrels.
