The Guardians for Good (GFG) award is presented annually to an individual or organization within the HelpLine service territory that has demonstrated superior sponsorship, service and social advocacy, exemplifying HelpLine values that propel the organization toward achieving its mission/vision. The award is presented annually at the Guardians for Good Awards Celebration every Giving Tuesday.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 by midnight.
Selection Criteria:
- A community member or organization who supports the HelpLine through sponsorship, service or social advocacy
- Significant contribution toward the achievement of the HelpLine mission/vision
- Nomination received by the deadline
Selection Process:
- The HelpLine leadership team will evaluate and consider the impact and progress of the nominee toward achieving the HelpLine mission/vision.
Previous Winners:
- Class of 2022 – Alisha Berendts, Bob Kendrick, Stacia Naquin, Omar Reid, Doug Wilson, and Jodi Hayes.
- Class of 2021 – Katherine Gharrity, Margie West, Russell Walker, Women Giving Together (Delaware Co.), and United Way of Delaware County.
- Class of 2020 – Susan Hanson, Delaware African American Heritage Council, Unity Community Center (fka Second Ward Community Center), Michael Schnell, George Needham, Family Promise, and Delaware General Health District.
- Class of 2019 – The Coss Family, Richard Upton, Amanda Denney (nee Mowry), Vessel Church and Andrew Aquino.
- Class of 2018 – Keith Boger (posthumously), Jim Roesch and 1808 American Bistro. (Note: These were given as part of the HelpLine Annual Meeting prior to GFG becoming a separate event).
