Retail Food Donation Appplication
Thank you for your interest in becoming a retail donor for our Food Pantry and Community Fridge program!
About our Program
Rose Francis Foundation is a nonprofit in Cumberland Country, North Carolina that serves women, children, and families through Food Pantry and Emergency Financial Assistance Programs. At Rose Francis Foundation we believe that no one should suffer from food insecurity or scarcity. That is why we are excited to welcome retail donations. This partnership consists of the retailer donating unused and close to expiration items that would otherwise be considered waste to be used to feed families in Cumberland County. We will pick up retail donations weekly or as often as the retailer prefers and stock items donated on our shelves for families in our community to use.

Tax Deduction Statement
As of December 2105, all businesses including C-corporations, S-corporations, limited liability corporations (LLC), partnerships and sole proprietorships are eligible for an enhanced tax deduction that exceeds the property’s basis for donated food. Businesses that are eligible for the tax deduction must meet certain requirements to receive the enhanced deduction. Businesses that do not receive these enhanced deductions, can still claim a general tax deduction for donating property, including food, in the amount of the property’s basis.
Donor Liability Protection
The Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act protects good faith food donors from civil and criminal liability. The law specifically protects individuals, corporations, wholesalers, caterers, farmers, restaurateurs, and others from liability for donating food in good faith.
