Throughout the course of their education provision, your child will be involved in the following assessments to determine their level of attainment, ability, and how we can best support their learning: Progress Tests in English (PTE), Maths (PTM), and Science (PTS if in Year 6), a Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) and also a Pupil Attitude to School and Self (PASS) survey.
Our schools follow the National Curriculum for England and our educational system is organised as follows:
Please note if your child is not in a similar system, they will undertake some baseline assessments.
If your child is in the age bracket for Year Groups 10 – 13 as in the chart above and are currently studying towards a qualification, parents/guardians will need to provide the following information:
- Examination Board
- Course Name
- Syllabus code
- Content covered to date
Children in Year Groups 10 – 13 who are on island on a short term basis (under 3 months) and have their own study materials are not required to provide the above information.
If your child is planning to continue their education in Year Group 12, they must meet the entry criteria as set out in the Prince Andrew School Sixth Form Admissions Policy and provide evidence of certificates gained to this point. Please request a copy of the policy if required.
Transport
Children will be expected to attend the school that is allocated to the catchment area where the family is residing. Considerations for schooling outside of the catchment area will be in special circumstances only such as crèche facilities. Should the place of accommodation be changed then it is likely that the child’s place of school will also change to that of the one for that catchment area.
NB: Transport is not provided for children who attend school outside of their catchment.
For short term stays transport is not guaranteed and will depend on availability of seating at the time. Please note that there is no guaranteed supervision on the school buses, Nursery children however are supervised.
