• MARCH OF THE LIVING - TEEN APPLICATION

    May 1 - 15, 2024

    The application will take about 20 - 30 minutes to complete.  As part of the process you will be required to write a short essay (a couple of paragraphs) on "why you want to participate in the March of the Living" or "what you expect to gain from the experience."  You will also need to upload several items including a copy of both sides of your health insurance card; a copy of the inside page of your passport, which needs to expire after December 15, 2024.  If you do not have a passport or need to renew, do it now, as it may take a good deal of time for it to process.  If necessary, please upload a copy of your passport application or renewal form.

    All participants must register for the new special European Travel Form (when the site becomes available)

    You will receive a link to the medical form which must be completed by a physician NOT related to you. You can also find the form link on the website at www.molbroward.org   You will need 2 color passport photos which you can mail or drop off at our office (5890 S Pine Island Road, Davie, Fl  33328) or brought to your interview. (Note no interview will be completed with out these pictures). 

    You will receive a link to the payment page immediately following submission of your application. There is a $500 deposit that is applicable to the total cost. 

    Be sure to check the dates of our classes as attendance is mandatory.  The calendar can be found at www.molbroward.org 

    Please be reminded you will need travel insurance which must be primary insurance and include, but not limited to, trip cancelation, delay, interruption and medical coverage with COVID being covered as any other illness/sickness. DO NOT purchase insurance yet.  More information on required limits and other information will be forthcoming.

    We anticipate a large number of applicants and we will be limited in the numbers we can take. Once we have your application, deposit and medical form, we will arrange your interview.  We will begin accepting participants on a rolling basis so it is to your advantage to get a completed application package in as quickly as possible. As soon as you are accepted a payment form will be sent to be completed and returned. 

    The cost of the 2024 Broward County Teen March of the Living program is $7295*, (*includes three international flights, all Kosher meals, lodging, motor coach transportation, land costs & admissions, tips, security arrangements, luggage tags, passport neck wallet, t-shirt, MOL jacket, pins, educators and program materials) 

    We are all aware of the rising costs of all goods and materials, gas, food, etc.  The Jewish Federation of Broward County endeavors to make the March of the Living affordable to all.

  • PASSPORT INFORMATION

    If you do not have a passport or it will expire BEFORE December 15, 2024, you mustapply for one NOW. Currently passports are taking an exceedingly long time to obtain or renew. You will need to upload a copy of the inside page or your application/renewal form at the end of this application. Remember you must register for the new special European Travel Number when the site opens. 

  • FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE ISRAELI CITIZENS OR WHO HAVE AT LEAST ONE PARENT WHO IS AN ISRAELI CITIZEN:  You will need an exemption ("PATOR") from the Israeli military service to depart Israel.  A copy will need to be in our office prior to January 1st.  Contact the Israeli Consulate as quickly as possible.  For additional information or questions, contact Galit immediately to avoid any problems as we get closer to departure.

    It is our intention to rely on the medical information you submit below, along with the physician's form (to be sent separately) and any supplemental letters from specialists or mental health professionals, in determining your acceptance and continuation in this program.  Omissions or misstatements are at your risk and that of your physician(s) or therapist(s).

    Should you be found to have any condition, mental or physical, that is not fully disclosed on this form, the physician's form or in an accompanyhing letter from an appropriate, qualified medical or mental health professional, you, may, at the sole and absolute discretion of the program, be returned to the USA at your own/family expense, including the expenses of an accompanying adult, or be treated in the country(ies) you are visiting at your own/family expense and there shall be no refund of monies paid.  The leadership of this program, international (International March of the Living) and local (Jewish Federation of Broward County and its March of the Living program) and its sponsoring organizations and vendors are hereby released from all responsibility or liability of any kind whatsoever arising out of any aspect of your medical history and mental or physical condition.

    If any changes take place in your medical or psychological condition prior to departure, you must immediately submit an explanatory letter, signed by an appropriate, qualified medical or psychological professional, detailing your diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.  Failure to submit such a report may result in your expulsion from the program with no refund of fees.

    In consultation with my parent(s) we certify that I am able to participate on the March of the Living, knowing I will undergo different sleep patterns, frequent and lengthy bus travel, late curfews, early wake ups and numerous hours of walking and being on my feet.  We acknowledge the need for the physician's form to be completed and returned to the Broward County March of the Living office as quickly as possible so that an interview can take place.

  • PAYMENT / CANCELLATION POLICY

    The fee for the 2024 March of the Living is $7295 and includes all airfare. 


    Need based FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available through an allocation of the Jewish Federation of Broward County/Jewish Community Foundation, monies from an endowment fund of the Friends of the March of the Living and individual donors. Information on applying can be found at https://www.molbroward.org/ Click on Teen and then click Teen forms from the drop down. Remember the deadline for financial assistance is October 15, 2024. Only completed application packages will be considered.  
      
    PAYMENT: Payments by credit card, check, or money order are accepted.  Payment plans are available and must be made upon acceptance/notification of financial assistance.

    Any cancellation notification must be emailed to galboukrek@jewishbroward.org 
    Organizations which have provided scholarship funds will be refunded first. 

  • In addition to the Medical Assessment agreed to above, the undersigned agree to hold the March of the Living, Inc. ("International March"), and the Jewish Federation of Broward County ("Federation"), their employees and volunteers, as well as any other organizations, harmless from any claim, loss, damage, bodily injury, personal injuries, including emotional trauma, known or unknown, death, liability or expense (including attorney's fees) which the undersigned participant might sustain/alleged sustain or incur/alleged incur in connection with, as a result of, or by reason of their participating in the March or any of the activities relating thereto, whether based upon the negligence or breach of contract by any of the above mentioned organizations/agencies or their representatives.

    The organizations sponsoring the March (International March of the Living and the Jewish Federation of Broward County and its March of the Living program) operates the tour offered under this program only as agents of the arline, bus operators, hotel facilities, and others which provide the actual arrangements, and are not liable for any act of omission, delay, injury, loss, damage or nonpeformance occurring in connection with these arrangements.

    It is further noted by the undersigned that while all food on the March of the Living is kosher, we cannot always provide for all special dietary needs.

    By placing our names below, the participant and parent(s) agree to abide by all rules and regulations as set forth by the International March of the Living, March of the Living Broward County and/or the Jewish Federation of Broward County.  These rules and regulations will be offered for signature during the interview process.

    By signing below, we acknowledge the information contained in this appication is correct and truthful.  All information will be used in conjunction with the March of the Living program.
