Missionary Charter Institute (MCI) is a christian institute for training missionaries. Our area of special training is health. However, the missionaries we train are equipped with a broad training to facilitate various circumstances that a missionary may find him/herself in. Our mission is to train missionaries to meet the challenges and changes of the twenty-first century. This means a MCI-trained missionary may be the next bible worker, nutrition coach, evangelist, baker, rural community health worker, orphanage manager etc., all with the goal to help, bless and uplift humanity through the gospel of relief from suffering.

About Our Program

MCI offers the Holistic Health Practice general training with opportunity for fields (areas) of concentration called "Ministry". The gerneral program lays a broad foundation for all mission-trainees, while our ministry options allow students to customize their training path.

The general program lasts for 15-Months. While ministry offerings lasts 16-weeks up to 25-weeks depending on the chosen field. All students must complete the general program before they can begin training in a Ministry.

 

Nature of Program

MCI training program is a "Mastery-Based" program. Students progress only by mastery of  knowledge, work-skills, and attitudes. Certification is granted based on proficiency ONLY. Those who complete general training and have mastered the relevant competencies are provided an Advanced certificate of proficiency. Those who mastered the relevant competencies of their chosen ministry will be provided a proficiency diploma. 

 

How Proficiency Works?

MCI program is aligned to Bible theology and international standards such as the National Health Science Standard (NHSS) and UK Health and Social Care Standards. All student MUST meet the required competence of these standards by mastery of the competencies before they can progress to the next level. On mastery at every step they will be able to practically demonstrate their knowledge and skills, therefore, will be certified proficient at their mastery level at or above the basic required competence.

Overview

Our Learning Path is divided into 2 sessions. The first facilitates general training; while, the latter facilitates fields of special training. Our general training session is organized into five (5) sub-tracks. When these tracks are successfully mastered by the student they would have completed their general training. They may then submit a request to begin their Ministry training. All Ministry student MUST complete a direct hands-on CAPSTONE project and Mission service. While, students who choose only general training must complete Mission service and relevant practicums. All Student must complete two skilled-area Electives (1 required and 1 of their choice from those available).

 

Training is conducted in a hybrid learning environment. This means, learning activities are both synchronous and asynchronous. Students will have scheduled classes they must atttend; they will also have managed learning activities they complete on their own within the scheduled time-frame. Selected learning activities such as farm trips and some practicums are completed asynchronously with facilitator support. 

This blended learning model facilitates better outcomes for the student. It combines the benefits of "real-time" interaction and instruction with self-learning and management. This help students practice for their field of ministry.
