Thank you for taking the time to consider this project! Your input is GREATLY appreciated!
Lakeshore Environmental, Inc. (LEI) has been awarded funds by the Michigan Craft Beverage Council to develop a Craft Beverage Wastewater Database (CBWD) that will benefit the entire Craft Beverage Industry. We need your help to fill the database with relevant data for industry improvement. Any information provided will not be associated with your facility name. It will be kept anonymous.
Purpose: To produce a resource for industry members that centralizes industry information to mitigate limitations associated with wastewater. The CBWD will contain anonymous, statewide results and practices relating to the design of appropriate wastewater treatment, negotiating appropriate permitting and regulations, and wastewater quality benchmarks.
Rationale: A frequent limitation in the growth and development of both new and established Michigan craft beverage producers is wastewater quality and treatment system design. The CBWD will provide insight into how best to manage wastewater, specifically from the craft beverage industry.
Cost: There is no participation cost and your site name and information will not be associated with results.
Contact: My name is Caitlin DeVries, and I will be your main contact throughout this study. Please reach out with any follow‐up questions or information. Thank you!
If you wish to participate, but are not able to fill out this questionnaire, please send me an email with your information and we will assist you.
Upon receipt of your questionnaire responses, LEI will select a subset of industry partners.
Even if you are unable to participate in the study directly, any of the following information you provide will be useful for this important industry wide evaluation.
If your facility is selected as a study participant, you will be notified by Lakeshore Environmental, Inc. Upon notification you will receive a general sampling plan and timeline. It is expected that at least two samples will be collected, although sample numbers may depend on the number of industries available. You will be contacted prior to any sampling event to ensure it fits your processing schedule and
availability.
Again, there will be no cost to your business associated with these samples. Your facility name will not be published. At most, a general description of your processing and location (i.e. winery in northwest Michigan OR brewery in Ottawa County) will be presented in a final report.
Additional information at the time of sample collection will be requested. This includes but is not limited to recent production types or rate of production.
If you are not selected or not able to participate:
Even if you are not a study participant, the information provided in this questionnaire and/or any available data you provide will be used to continue to assess the Wastewater in this industry. You will also have access to any findings at the end of the grant period.
Your consideration and information is much appreciated!
