    The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York has grown to be the largest regional promotional products association in the country. Our growth would not have been possible without the visionary planning and untiring efforts of a few outstanding leaders. The SAAGNY Hall of Fame recognizes the extraordinary achievements of these leaders who have contributed to our success. This is your opportunity to help choose the next recipient of this prestigious honor. When making your selection, please keep in mind the criteria outlined in the application below.
  • SAAGNY Pioneers

     

    SAAGNY Pioneers are defined as individuals previously employed by member companies who are no longer active in our region or business and served AMASS or SAAGNY prior to 1989.  Pioneers will be voted on via a separate nomination from the regular Hall of Fame.  Anyone that served SAAGNY from 1989 and prior will be considered a potential Pioneer Club inductee. 

     

     

    SAAGNY Contemporaries

     

    SAAGNY Contemporaries are defined as current or past members who have volunteered with SAAGNY.

     

    The nominee shall have made significant and lasting contributions to SAAGNY and the Promotional Products industry and have served on a committee or on the Board of Directors of SAAGNY.  To be eligible, the nominee must have served as a committee or board volunteer and:

     

    ·       Has not served on the SAAGNY Board of Directors for a minimum of three (3) years before nomination to the Hall of Fame; or

     

    ·       Continues to serve on the Board of Directors but has an aggregate of 10 years’ volunteer service to SAAGNY as a committee or board member prior to nomination to the Hall of Fame

     

    ·       Members of the Hall of Fame Committee are not eligible for nomination

  • TO THE NOMINATOR:  In order for the Hall of Fame Selection Committee to select the most deserving individual(s), please submit this nomination form, a resume detailing the professional career of the applicant, and an essay supporting the nomination no later than Friday, September 1, 2023.  Please be sure to refer to the nomination rules and regulations to ensure that you provide the required information.

     

    TO THE NOMINEE:  Upon receipt of a nomination for the SAAGNY Hall of Fame, you will be asked to submit an essay answering each of the questions on the bottom of the this page and three letters of recommendation from individuals inside or outside the industry.  These items are due no later than Friday, September 1, 2023.

  • Nomination Rules and Regulations

     

    Each nomination must include an essay and resume that addresses/discusses each of the following areas:

     

    Each nomination will be judged and scored on the following:

     

    1. Specific contributions to SAAGNY, including length of service. 

    a. SAAGNY Board of Directors

    b. SAAGNY committee service

    c. Innovation – singularly brought the association a product, program or value having significant impact for the membership

    d. Restoration – singularly was able to restore a product, program or other asset for the benefit of the membership or perpetuity of the association

    e. Leadership – offered unique leadership skills that impacted volunteers and/or members beyond the ordinary. Leading the charge, directing the team, installing systems etc.

    f. Education – had direct impact on the professional and/or corporate development of membership as an asset. Facilitated, organized, executed.

    g. Conservation – actively worked beyond the expected to conserve SAAGNY assets.

    h. Promulgation – by his/her hand, improved the perception of SAAGNY either intra or extra industry.

    i. Propagation – by his/her hand, created, managed or executed programs to significantly increase membership.

     

    2. SAAGNY Foundation/charitable efforts.

    a. SAAGNY Foundation Board of Trustees

    b. SAAGNY Foundation committee service

    c. Volunteering at SAAGNY Foundation events

     

    3. Specific contributions to the promotional products industry beyond SAAGNY. 

    a. PPAI Board of Directors

    b. PPAI committee participation

    c. National task forces

     

    4. Community service. 

    a. Fraternal organizations

    b. Religious organizations

    c. Public offices held/political involvement

    d. Professional/Business affiliations

    e. Civic club involvement

     

    5. Character

     

    In addition, each applicant/or nominator of applicant must submit:

     

    · A resume containing the professional career of the applicant must be submitted by nominee.

     

    · Three letters of recommendation.  Any additional letters of recommendation will be tallied and only the total number of additional letters will be sent to the committee. The contents of and persons who wrote the letters will not be made known to the committee. The recommendation should answer why candidate deserves a place in the SAAGNY Hall of Fame.

     

    · Each nominee must complete a questionnaire: 

     

    1. What SAAGNY achievement are you most proud of?

    2. What do you think is your most lasting contribution to SAAGNY?

    3. How do you feel your time at SAAGNY inspired others?

    4. What three words would your SAAGNY colleagues use to describe you?
