What to expect as a Pony Pal member:
The Pony Pals Program at Lil' Bit of Life caters to the horse crazy kids that are looking for an introduction into horsemanship and continuing their pursuit.
This program is designed for an 1 1/2 hours to get the reality of what its like to come and care for your horse. Duties can include, feeding, picking their stall, filling their water bucket, learning about the tack and caring for it. Properly, grooming and tacking up your horse. Our focus is heavily on the youth interacting with the horse, safety, communication, horsemanship, learning with games and riding lesson. Learn by doing. During this time, your child will also get comfortable interacting with other youth with the same passion, work through team building exercises and make new friendships.
Through working with horses, they can teach many different life skills without realizing it. Horses teach us to be thinkers, to be strong, to have patience and to try new things. If your child grows beyond this program and wishes to move up, there are a few opportunities through Lil' Bit of Life with Horse'n Around Camps and private horseback riding lessons where your child can continue their path of development. We will also refer them to a couple of very amazing coaches we work with.
**For ages mature 5 -14 years old.
Please understand, this is our home and our animals love their relaxed environment. We have rules and these rules are for our animals safety and your children. Parents/guardians are not able to be in our riding area. You can sit in the back area where the picnic tables are. Unfortunately, we have found that parents/friends/siblings, taking photos are a huge distraction and can cause a safety issue.
What to wear:
Make sure you wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. Long pants preferably whether they're jeans/leggings/etc. Hair up and pulled back away from your face.
What to bring with you:
Water & bug spray, if your child is prone to bug bites. We have all equipment needed for a safe ride as well as helmets. If you would like to purchase a helmet for your youth it is highly encouraged as well but not a requirement to have. We have several in many different sizes for them to wear.
We look forward to creating many years of memories with your horse crazy kid!
Thank you,
Tracey, our team and 4 legged friends
