  • Festival of the Cranes Annual Photo Contest

    Friends of Bosque del Apache invites photographers to submit their best shots to our annual contest. Winning photos will be displayed in the Bosque del Apache Visitor Center atrium prior to and through the Festival of the Cranes and throughout the year until the winners for our 2024 Photo Contest are selected.

    The 2023 Crane Fiesta Photo Contest opens July 30th.

  • How to Name Your Files 

    Please carefully follow the directions below for your submissions:

    1st: Applicant’s first and last name.
    2nd: Two numeric characters: last two numeric characters of the applicant’s primary phone number.
    3rd: Either an ”S,” “P,” “W,” or “L” representing that the photo is the Sandhill, People, Wildlife or Landscape category.
    4th: Last two numeric characters: image number beginning with 01 and ending with 20 (maximum).


    For example: Jane Doe’s phone number is 555-111-1234 and she  submitted three landscapes images, her photos would be titled “Janedoe34L01,” “Janedoe34L02” and “Janedoe34L03.” She also submitted one sandhill photo. This was titled “janedoe34S01.”
