    • I am applying to:*
    • I have read the above and understand that the application fee is required before my application can be processed.*
    • I have read the above and understand the adoption fees and that the fee is required at the time of adoption, in full.*
    • I understand that this application does not guarantee me a Great Dane and that I may have to wait 3-6+ months to be matched with a Dane for my family.*
    • Pre-Adoption Information
    • Do you understand that as a rescue, owners do not surrender their dogs to us because they are well-mannered, perfect on leash, and great with all people and pets. Meaning: you will likely have to work with your Dane after adoption to help them meet their full potential. This includes separation anxiety, leash reactivity, dog/cat/human reactions/aggressions, destructive when left alone, need slow introductions, etc. "Perfect dogs"- meaning those who are laid back and fit right into the home- will likely never be available. Please be prepared to potentially work with several issues with your new Dane but we support you the entire time. If you aren't willing to work with any of the above, please contact us to determine if a rescue dog is good for you.*

    • Do you understand that while Great Danes have been called "Gentle Giants", that they are capable of things like reactivity, aggression, and other behavioral issues despite the best upbringing?*

    • If you answered "no" above- have you ever owned a Giant Breed? Giant Breeds include: Anatolian Shepherd, Saint Bernards, Mastiffs, Irish Wolfhounds, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, Leonbergers, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, and Scottish Deerhound.*

    • Any asthma or allergies in household to dogs or cats?*
    • Applicant's Preferences
    • Many of the Great Danes in our care come to us because they exhibited behaviors that their previous owners were unable to accomodate/handle/care for. Common concerns could be leash reactivity/aggression, food aggression, "stranger danger", or did not get along with the other pet(s) in the home. We do our best to try to correct the problem in foster care, but the dog may need continued training or work. Please consider this when looking to adopt a dog from our rescue.

    • Some dogs come to us with a bite history. We try to get as much information about the bite and what surrounded the incident and that information will be made available to you if you are interested in that specific dog. Are you willing to adopt a dog with a bite history?*
    • Do all members of the household want to adopt or foster a Great Dane?*

    • Do you, or anyone in the home, have any hesitations or concerns about adopting or fostering a Great Dane?*
    • Is there anyone home during the day?*
    • Have you ever crated a dog before?*
    • Do you own a Dane-sized crate? Most crates will need to be about 54"L x 36"W x 45"H, depending on the size of the Dane.*
