The NAIDOC Cup is for players turning 13, 14, 15 or 16 by 31st December 2024.
The NAIDOC Cup is an initiative of Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) and Football NSW (FNSW) supported by the NSW Football Legacy Program, a $10 million investment from the NSW Government to support football at all levels as a result of hosting FIFA Women’s World Cup matches in NSW. The NAIDOC Cup will see representative First Nations football teams from each Member Federation (NNSWF & FNSW) compete in matches over 2.5 days during NAIDOC Week. The tournament also involves opportunities for players, coaches, and referees to connect with culture.
NNSWF is seeking players to be involved in the tournament in 2024.
Interested players are invited to attend the 2024 NAIDOC Cup Player Trials over the 24th (Girls) and 26th (Boys) of April. Players must attend the player trials to be eligible for selection. If you are unavailable to attend the trials, communication with NNSWF must occur before the trial date to decide if players are eligible for selection.
NNSWF will select to following teams: 14s Girls, 14s Boys, 16s Girls & 16s Boys.
To be eligible for the NNSWF NAIDOC Cup team you must:
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Be born in 2008/2009/2010/2011
- Be a registered football player within the national PlayFootball registration system to a NNSWF affiliated club
Cost:
- $100 per player if selected to attend NAIDOC Cup.
