Before we record, we will need you to sign this form. Take your time with it, run it by anyone you'd like, and if anything is unclear or concerns you, just ask.
1. Permission. You give us (Malak Media LLC, the company behind Almost False) permission to record you, and to use the video and audio from the recordings — along with your image, voice, and public name — to create, share, and promote media content, in any format and on any platform. You also assign us all rights you may have in the recordings, including copyright. These permissions and rights are irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, licensable, and transferable. We own the recordings, not your story. You’re free to tell it anywhere, anytime.
2. Exchange. To protect everyone's credibility, neither of us pays the other to be on the show. You give the permissions and commitments in this form in exchange for our work recording and producing the interview.
3. Publishing and monetization. We decide what gets published, and whether it's available for free, behind a paywall, or both. Any income derived from the recordings helps support the ministry, and you agree you aren't owed a share of it.
4. Editing. We may edit the recordings, which can include shortening, reordering, separating, or removing parts of the conversation. We do this in good faith, for reasons like clarity, length, quality, and accuracy.
5. Thumbnails. We may use a screenshot from the video and place your face next to images that convey the topic of the interview. If there are images you'd rather not be associated with, tell us and we'll do our best to accommodate you. We may also use AI to improve screenshots when their quality is poor.
6. Translations. We may dub your interview into other languages using an AI-generated version of your voice. We may also use automated tools to generate captions, transcripts, and translations. These tools are imperfect, and you agree that we and our team aren't liable for those errors.
7. Your responsibility. You're responsible for what you choose to share. You can skip any question, pause, or stop at any time. You agree not to hold us or our team liable for any personal, professional, relational, financial, or legal consequences of what you voluntarily share. If you have concerns afterward or want content taken down, please contact us as soon as possible.
8. What we ask of you. You confirm that what you’ll share is true as you understand it, that you won't use it to unfairly attack anyone, that sharing this won't break an NDA or professional confidence, that you've thought carefully about other people you’ll name, and that you haven't promised anyone else exclusive rights to what you’ll share. If you knowingly make a false statement that leads to a legal claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees.
9. Release. You release us and our team from claims arising from recording, editing, publishing, or promoting the recordings in good faith, including claims you don’t yet know about.
10. Legal details. This form is our entire agreement, and any changes to it must be agreed to in writing. It also covers any follow-up recordings, and it continues if the show changes hands. If any part doesn't hold up legally, the rest still does, and anything broader than the law allows applies as narrowly as needed to stay valid.
