ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS
Art = Healing is open to all US and International artists working in most media. Artists from NY's Hudson Valley and the NY Metropolitan regions are encouraged to submit art. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
EXHIBITION
Selection of artists will be made by Emerge Gallery director and curator Robert Langdon, ShoutOut Executive Director, Suzanne Bennett, and ShoutOut Associate Director Christa Huffman Mattia, in consultation with Linda Mary Montano. Acceptance will be determined by artistic excellence, adherence to theme, and compatibility with other works in the exhibition. Artists chosen to participate will be featured in a group exhibit at The Lamb Center in Saugerties, NY. The work will also be exhibited and available to view and purchase on the Emerge Gallery shop on Artsy https://www.artsy.net/emerge-gallery-ny.
EXHIBITION TERMS
All works in the exhibit must be for sale. Emerge Gallery, ShoutOut, Lamb Center will share a 50% commission on all sales with the remaining 50% paid to the artist. Retail sale price is determined by the artist in consultation with the curator.
FEES
There is a fee $25 submission fee to submit work, which will help greatly in funding this project. The cost of shipping art work (including return shipment) will be the sole responsibility of the artist. Work not collected 60 days after the close of the exhibition becomes the property of Emerge Gallery and ShoutOut and will be donated.
SUBMISSION SPECIFICATIONS
Works of visual art, performance art, film and spoken word will all be considered
Submissions created in a still medium — painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, etc. — must not be larger than 40" by 50” framed.
Sculptural work must be freestanding or fit a 15” x 15” pedestal, unless one is provided by the artist
Video and film submissions must be a maximum of 10 min in length and submitted via a link for viewing (Vimeo, YouTube, etc). If accepted, artist must agree to videos being posted to Emerge Gallery and ShoutOut YouTube, Vimeo and social media pages.
Spoken word must be submitted in video or audio format via a link for viewing (Vimeo, YouTube, etc) and a maximum of 5 min. If accepted, artist must agree to videos being posted to Emerge Gallery and ShoutOut YouTube, Vimeo and social media pages.
Performance art should be 15 minutes maximum in length and submitted via a link for viewing (Vimeo, YouTube, etc) OR video excerpts from the rehearsals AND a written outline of the work-in-progress concept.
Submit up to 4 images. It is important that submission guidelines are followed and that all jpg files be labeled in the following format: Last name_ First initial_ Title_medium_dimension_year (If you do not know how to change or name a file, these tips will help: https://bit.ly/3SQmGm8).
Having files named in this way assures that work is attributed to the correct artist and that all of the information is correct. Submissions not following requested format will be returned.
Each digital image must be saved in JPEG format, sized at a resolution no larger than 300 dpi. (If selected for the exhibition, you may be requested to submit a higher resolution image.)

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. If accepted, artist grants Emerge Gallery and ShoutOut the rights to use the selected image(s) on promotional materials including print and digital. Emerge Gallery and ShoutOut retain no copyrights or usage rights outside of promoting the artists and their work, and for archival purposes and grant reporting.
