FLOOR MANAGER POSITION
Summary
The Floor Manager, or “FM” is responsible for directing and maintaining a healthy and efficient shift. This role is a maverick and can hold various job duties while on shift: cashier, barista, and overall, floor manager / leader of the shift. The FM ensures that all team members are working to their full potential and completing their assigned role and task to the standards as set by Provision. This job acts as a liaison between team members and management, and is an integral part of the leadership team. Overall, the FM is responsible for all interactions with guests, products being served, and job duties being performed while they manage that shift.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Manages the pace, timing, and tasks of that shift

Ensures all team members, including themselves, are completing assigned job duties in a timely and efficient manner

Act as liaison between team members and leadership, ensuring proper communication of needs from both parties are being properly relayed

Receives and tracks incoming orders, allocated in proper storage, FIFO products, and submit proper documentation to AGM or GM

Assist with back of house organization and storage; ensure all items are put away and stored in an efficient and safe manner for all team members to access

Maintain a clean, organized, and appealing front of house

Guide and train new employees through their shift and their responsibilities

Handle guest complaints, and make decisions on correct action to remedy; work with AGM or GM for more serious concerns

Coordinate all team members hours while on shift to ensure they take necessary breaks and coverage is always available

Informs all team members on their shift of immediate operational changes, including but not limited to: items being sold out, change to drink preparation, etc

Taste and ensure quality control for beverage preparation, including but not limited to: espresso, cocktails, foods, etc
Required Skills & Physical Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must be open to different shift assignments, weekends, holidays, and evenings are a must

Must be able to complete the role and tasks of Server/Barista/Bartender

Must enjoy quick, fast paced environment and work with a sense of urgency

Must enjoy working in a team setting

Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to stand up for 4 hours at a time

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs of product

Must hold and maintain Food Handlers, Food Managers, and Title 4 Certification

Must have reliable transportation to arrive to their shift on-time

Must have a working cellphone with ability to download certain apps

Must have good time management skills and ability to determine priorities

Must have good communication skills and ability to relay proper information to team members in an appropriate manner, at an appropriate time

Previous cafe or restaurant leadership experience is not necessary but highly desirable
Work environment
- This job duties of this role may sometimes go outside the cafe setting, such as for events, and is agreed upon with the General Manager
- The Floor Manager role will require additional office administration duties, including but not limited to: writing emails to management, cross referencing invoices, documenting, etc
- The Floor Manager may need to complete additional errands which will be assigned by the General Manager with approved compensation (gas, travel, etc)
Position Type
- This position reports directly to the General Manager for overall needs, included by not limited to: time off request, human resources related issues, personal conflicts, etc
- This position is hourly, and shall not exceed 40 hours per week without approved consent from the General Manager
Compensation
- $15.35/hr + tips (typically ~$7/hr); during training or off-floor: $15.35/hr. Tips are pooled between hourly staff proportionally based on floor hours worked.
