    CELL PHONE CONTRACT

  • Students hand in their cell phones at Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music upon entering the building. Our staff members will be at the entrance to collect the cell phones in the morning and return them at the end of the school day. Students and parents must complete and sign this contract to participate in this policy. However, please note that students can also leave their cell phones at home and choose not to participate in the collection process. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a focused and productive learning environment.

  • Terms and conditions:

    • All students are required to power off their cell phones prior to entering the building
    • Having a cell phone on school premises is a privilege, not a right
    • Administration reserves the right to revoke this privilege for violating any school policy
    • Students who have their cell phone privileges revoked may appeal the decision the following semester.
    • Cell phones will only be returned at the conclusion of the school day
Students registered for PM classes and/or Regents tutoring will receive their phones back solely at the end of their session.
    • Celia Cruz is not responsible of liable for stolen, lost, or damaged phones
    • If a student forgets or intentionally leaves school without their phone, they will not be able to access it until the following day. This policy is designed to discourage students from skipping after-school classes. The only way to retrieve the phone on the same day is to forfeit cell phone privileges or have a parent or guardian personally retrieve it from the school. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this rule applies to all students without exceptions.
It is important to proactively address extenuating circumstances beforehand.
  • To facilitate the recovery of a lost or stolen device, kindly furnish the required information. In the circumstance that you acquire a new cellphone, both the parent and student must sign a new agreement. Failure to do so will lead to the forfeiture of privileges.
