Class Requirements

• Attend a Board of Education Meeting. Generally, the school board meets on the third Monday of each month with the exception of December, January, and February as a result of holidays. A schedule of the meetings and agenda is available on the Muscogee County School District’s website: www.mcsdga.net. Have a school board member sign a copy of that day’s agenda. This requirement needs to be completed by November 18, 2025.

• Complete a ride on the METRA bus. A schedule and map have been provided to you. Please complete the METRA bus ride form and turn it in as proof of the ride prior to December 9, 2025.     

• Turn in your group's Service Project Proposal. Projects must be pitched to the Leadership Columbus team for approval. Coordinate with Ashley Becker and Reggie Lewis via email. We suggest that you have several options for projects when you get ready to make your pitch. No two teams can do the same project, so be prepared if your first project suggestion is denied. You are welcome to pitch your project before the cut-off date of December 31st, 2025.          

• Attend a Chamber Board Meeting. The meetings for the remainder of 2025 are listed on the Chamber Board calendar in your notebook. The dates for 2026 will be released at a later time.  Please contact Ashley Becker at 706-810-0996 or abecker@columbusgachamber.com and let her know what day you plan to attend. This requirement needs to be completed by January 27, 2026.

• Attend a City Council Meeting. They are held on Tuesdays. The Fourth Tuesday of the Month meeting is at 5:30 p.m. All other Tuesday meetings will be held at 9:00 a.m. For more information, call the Government Center at 706-653-4000. Have a council member sign a copy of that day’s agenda. More information and copies of the agenda can be found at www.columbusga.org/council. This requirement needs to be completed by February 17, 2026.

• Complete a ride along with a Police Officer for a minimum of four hours or schedule to be present for at least four hours during a shift at the County Jail prior to March 17, 2026. Make note of the day you did this service and the officer you worked with. Please refer to Police Ride Along form for contact information.

• Attend an Art Event. This requirement needs to be completed by April 14, 2026. Keep a copy of your ticket or program and send to Ashley Becker via Jotform.

• Turn in your group Service Project presentation. This requirement must be completed by May 12, 2026.

• All class requirments must be completed by May 12th, 2025.
