50-at-50 Movement Fun Run/Walk Registration and Event Details
1. THIS run/walk is a 'self-supported run', meaning that participants are responsible for providing their own provisions (water, food, etc..). The starting area can be used as an aid station where you can store and access your provisions throughout the run. 2. THE run will officially start at 8 pm Friday, August 11th and participants can start any time after that. The race will close once the race 'turtle', Colin T., finishes a distance of 50 miles (80km), estimated to be 12 pm Saturday, August 12th. 3. THE start location (and aid station area) is the Adidas Run Base located on the West Bund at: 4. THERE will be five different courses (24km, 19.2km, 16km, 11.2km, and 9.6km) available, however, participants can run/walk any course including their own. 5. THIS fun run/walk, has a major charity component included and you can contribute in several different ways. The race 'turtle' has used his own funds to create a 'giving' pot. From this giving pot, you can give to an impact project when you register and again based on your completed distance. 6. ONCE you complete your distance, simply provide the distance information to the run support person. We will donate one impact for each distance of 1.6km completed. 7. PARTICIPATE solo or as part of a team or group.
Remember
The event is a "self-supported", "fun-chase-run" based on the start and finish of the slow race 'turtle'. Once the turtle has completed the full 80km distance, the race will close.
