  • Thank you so much for your interest in joining the EmpowerED Workshop.

    Participant Action Research (PAR) is a collaborative and empowering approach to research that involves individuals directly affected by particular issues. Community-based Participatory Research (CBPR) is when people, organizations, and researchers work together as a team to study and improve things that matter to their community.

    PAR/CBPR Training provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to better participate in local research initiatives. During these four 1/2 day trainings, participants learn to frame research questions, develop their voice, and collaborate in community-based research projects.

    This is an application process and your participation is subject to approval.  You will be notified no later than October 6th your application status.

     

    We are excited to offer multiple opportunities for you to participate in our training sessions. You can choose from three convenient schedules:

    Two online sessions via Zoom
    One in-person session

    At the bottom of this page, you will find one question regarding your preferred training option. Please take a moment to select the workshop option you would like to attend or let us know if you would like to discuss a flexible option.

     
    ONLINE Training #1 will take place

    Module 1: Wednesday October 9th, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

    Module 2: Wednesday October 16th, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

    Module 3: Wednesday October 23rd, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

    Module 4: Wednesday October 30th, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

    Module 5: Wednesday November 6th 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

      

    ONLINE Training #2 will take place

    Module 1: Saturday October 12th, 2024 from   10:00am to 2:00pm

    Module 2:Saturday  October 19th, 2024 from   10:00am to 2:00pm

    Module 3: Saturday October  26th, 2024 from  10:00am to 2:00pm

    Module 4: Saturday November 2nd 2024 from  10:00am to 2:00pm

    Module 5: Saturday November 9th 2024 from  10:00am to 2:00pm
