  • Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Please use this form for a new ministry or project.

What is the Ministry & Activity Request Form?

This form is the first step to requesting a new project, program, or event at Clear Lake United Methodist Church for the purpose of ministry. Completing this form helps us understand the scope of your idea, determine whether it aligns with our mission and available resources, and–if approved–make appropriate preparations with staff, advertising, campus management, etc.

    What projects are approved?

To be approved, all projects, programs, and events should align with our Holy Conversations directive to create pathways to discipleship in our congregation and/or in our community through Clear Lake City Elementary. Our focus is to be a congregation where people can Meet Jesus, Know Jesus, and Share Jesus.

What can I expect after I submit this form?

+ First, upon submission, ministry requests are sent for approval by the staff person who is responsible for the activity.

+ Second, ministry requests are sent for approval from the Executive Pastor and/or Directing Staff.

+ Third, once prior approvals are received, information of the program request is sent to Amy Trim, Pastoral Ministry Assistant, for scheduling on the church calendar and all related staff required to prepare for the activity.

+ Events are not scheduled until an approval email is received from Amy Trim, Pastoral Ministry Assistant. You can always follow up with her at amy@clearlakemethodist.org.

+ Staff members involved in various areas (pastors, facilities, technology, childcare, communications, etc.) may follow-up with you individually with specific questions, if needed.

+ Deadline to submit this form is 2 weeks before the event. After the deadline, we cannot guarantee all of our staff and resources can be coordinated in time. You may certainly still submit the form, but some seasons are quite busy and may be too busy to support the program.

+ All events are subject to change due to church needs.

  • Two Possible Alignments

Clear Lake UMC is challenged to create specific pathways by which people within our congregation and our community will encounter Jesus Christ.

    1. We believe God has called us to align our ministry efforts and resources to a clarified model of discipleship for our congregation. We are a congregation where people can Meet Jesus, Know Jesus, and Share Jesus.

    2. We believe God has called us to adopt Clear Lake City Elementary (CLCE) School as our primary 2019-2023 mission outpost and start building relationships with CLCE students, staff, teachers, and the students’ parents.

  • All ministry activities must have a sponsoring staff person who is responsible for the project.

Please indicate below which staff person is responsible for this ministry project/activity. Each staff person selected below will receive a copy of this request and must approve it before it is approved by a member of directing staff.

(If your event is not ministry-related and is simply building rental, please contact the church business office for rental fees, insurance requirements, etc.)

  • Communications Request

  • Please understand that our communications office will aim to accomplish all promotion requests as best we can, but all requests are prioritized amongst all other requests based on missional alignment and breadth of invitation–meaning targeted communiques are generally a lower priority than whole-church efforts. Different communications media allow for different numbers of announcements.

  • Audio/Video Technology

  • For events using CLUMC A/V equipment, our church requires a CLUMC-trained A/V technician. For simple events, the leader of the event can opt to have a volunteer trained by CLUMC staff prior to the event. For more technically involved events, CLUMC will require a fee to fairly compensate additional staff hours and will provide a staff A/V technician.

The fee is $30 per hour of the event on weekdays and $50 per hour on weekends with an additional hour of cost to cover the setting up and striking of equipment.
