Presenter Bio: Estefana Johnson, LCSW
Estefana Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Lighthouse Psychiatry and TMS. Highly sought after for her expertise, she travels nationwide to provide training for therapists, psychologists, practitioners, and psychiatrists.
As a first-generation Mexican-American, Estefana faced childhood adversity and undiagnosed ADHD. Despite the challenges of fitting in, she discovered her passion for behavioral health in 2001 while working with at-risk youth. By 2009, she became certified in treating juveniles with sexually maladaptive behaviors. Recognizing that conventional approaches often led to only superficial changes, Estefana delved deeper into the survival mechanisms of trauma. After earning her Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2016, she trained in various therapeutic modalities, specializing in trauma treatment and memory reconsolidation techniques.
Estefana has experience treating a range of mental health conditions, including complex adult and childhood trauma, anxiety, and depression. In 2016, she became Arizona’s first trained Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) practitioner. By 2022, she co-developed Critical Memory Integration (CMI) with the ARISE Alliance Institute, an approach designed to transcend symptom management and reclaim personal agency.
Currently, Estefana serves as the Clinical Director for ASA Now, a non-profit dedicated to supporting foster and adoptive youth and their families. Her work is fueled by a passion for helping others reconnect with themselves and discover their true potential. In addition to being a Certified Master Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) clinician and Co-Developer of Critical Memory Integration (CMI), she is the Director of Clinical Training for ARISE Alliance. Estefana also provides consultation and training for mental health professionals, foster and adoptive parents, and behavioral health organizations. Her commitment to foster and adoptive children extends beyond her professional life; she has been a lead volunteer, Board Member, and Clinical Director for ASA Now since 2016.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Estefana is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in her community.
Childcare: We will make every effort to provide childcare for all families who request it. However, our ability to do so depends on the number of volunteers available. If your family is selected for childcare, we will send a confirmation email with check-in information no later than two (2) days prior to the event. Please note that there will be staggered check-in and check-out times.
Childcare Activities: Our childcare program will include games, crafts, and a meal with pizza and fruit. If your child has a restrictive diet or food allergies, please provide a labeled sack lunch. If your child requires an epi-pen for allergies, be sure to bring it and hand it to a supervisor at check-in.
For each child, please provide an index card with information about special needs and allergies. Hand the card to your child's volunteer and verbally explain the details to ensure your child's safety.
If your child has specific food preferences, favorite toys, or card games, feel free to provide them to the volunteer.
Additionally, bring a change of clothes for each young child in a labeled backpack with your family's last name. If your child is prone to accidents or potty training, inform the volunteer and provide pull-ups. For infants, make sure to pack a diaper bag with enough formula, comfort items, and preferred snacks to keep them content while you attend the workshop. Be sure to label the diaper bag with your last name as well.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING CHILDREN WITH LICE OR NITS, OR ANY SYMPTOMS CONSISTENT WITH COVID OR OTHER CONTAGIOUS ILLNESSES
Before you drop off your child, ensure you've completed the following:
1. Attach a name tag with your child’s first and last name to the back of their shirt.
2. Write down any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or any other behavioral or special needs on an index card (one card per child).
3. Provide a labeled diaper bag for children in diapers or a labeled backpack for your family with spare clothes and other necessary items for potty-trained children.
⚠️ Cancellations: Due to the time and effort that it takes to put these events together, we want you to be aware that there are NO REFUNDS or CREDITS.
Failing to attend or not notifying us will exclude you from attending future Trauma Tools Workshops. We understand that emergencies happen. If you are unable to attend, you MUST notify us ahead of scheduled arrival time and we ask that you give us as much notice as possible by calling 623-428-1592.
