Course Description:
Our purpose is to equip students with the basics and staples that are needed in their minor and adult life. Our goal is to teach and display foundational knowledge for every course and build their confidence in exercising these skills.
TERM 1 - Domestic Skills + Safety will cover such things as Meal Planning & Prepping, basic sewing, cleaning & organizing, basic landscaping
fire safety & basic first aid, situational awareness & high stress management as well as map literacy & outdoor awareness - and more!
TERM 2 - Home Repair and Money Management will cover such things as balancing a budget, credit awareness, debt & big purchases, a money workshop and basic home repairs, appliance awareness, plumbing, how a home is built and basic home stewardship and maintenance.
TERM 3 - Communication + Automotive Care will cover such things as job interviews and resume preparation, time management, health & fitness, civility, addressing an email/letter, etiquette, as well as automotive care, the structure of a vehicle, how to fix a flat, how to check/change oil, basic pricing for vehicle maintenance, vehicle forms and payments, insurance
