    2026 Scholarship Application

  • SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

    • Must be a resident of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex Area
    • Must be a high school senior planning to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) Fall 2027
    • Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (if your district has a different system, please convert your GPA to a 4.0 scale)
    • Applicants should exemplify commitment, leadership, and identification with the Dallas-Fort Worth community. 

    ESSAY REQUIREMENT

    The essay must be typed, single-spaced, and no longer than one (1) page. Please upload via the form below.

    Please choose one of the following topics:

    1. Write a short essay that describes areas in your life where you demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles either through your school, social, or family life.
    2. Share how you would respond to someone who claims there is no longer a need for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

    LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

    One letter of recommendation must be submitted from members of the academic community, mentors, or civic leaders. The letter of recommendation should be a brief statement describing the student's character and motivation toward success.
