Join us for a special collaboration with SBHEC, Cranston Public Library, and the Rhode Island Library Association. In conjunction with Banned Book Week, we will be hearing from a panel of historians and experts, who will juxtapose the current rash of book bans to those implemented in Nazi Germany during the 1930s. In today's climate, where books like Diary of Anne Frank and Maus are banned from schools, it is more important than ever to amplify these issues and remember lessons from history. Holocaust history shows us that mass suppression of free speech and marginalized groups is the gateway to much more. We would love to call our community into action--your voice matters!
