PuppyLove Poodles provides a 1 year health guarantee for your puppy. The following conditions and terms are put into place for protection of the buyer, seller and puppy. This is a legally binding contract between buyer and seller (PuppyLove Poodles, Bonnie and Travis Gourdin)
Conditions of Sale: Seller guarantees that at the time of delivery/pick up, the puppy is in good physical condition and has genetically good health. At 7-8 weeks old it was thoroughly examined by our vet and checked from nose to tail. If they find a problem, it will be reported to you before you get the puppy.
Deposits are nonrefundable for any reason. The Seller has the right to refuse sale for any reasonable circumstance including but not limited to the sake of the puppies' best interest or the integrity of PuppyLove Poodles.
The buyer has 3 business days from the time of receipt of the puppy to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. Should your veterinarian’s opinion differ from ours and the puppy is found to have a life-threatening congenital issue, you must contact the seller immediately. Written proof of examination must be provided to the seller. Any request to return the dog to the seller for a refund must be made within this time period and may only be requested should the dog prove to have a life-threatening genetic condition. A second opinion will be required if diagnosis contradicts the findings of the final vet check the puppy received from seller's veterinarian. If your second opinion veterinarian agrees with your vet, we will provide the buyer with a replacement puppy or refund of purchase price after the dog is returned to the seller at the buyer’s expense. A replacement will be offered for a similar valued puppy (if available). Puppies surrendered back for non-health related reasons are not given a refund. This guarantee will be terminated if the dog is not examined within the allotted time.
Once the puppy is with you please be patient and vigilant with the puppy through the initial transitional phase. At first sign of any distress or illness the buyer should take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian and notify the seller. Upon arrival all veterinary care and its associated costs are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the buyer.
Policy on Health Issues found BEFORE Departure or Pickup: After the 7–8-week exam, we will disclose any abnormal findings from our veterinarian. You may opt to back out of the purchase due to any health problems (bite, hernias, patellas, etc...) at this time and apply your deposit to another puppy.
Our health guarantee covers death due to genetic conditions such as a heart, liver, or kidney condition. In the first year of life if the puppy dies of a GENETIC disease the seller will provide a replacement of the puppy within 12 months. The buyer must have a necropsy performed at their state laboratory and report proving the genetic disease sent to our veterinarian. Failure to comply will receive no compensation. Shipping is not refunded. Proof of microchip will be required to verify the identity of said dog.
Please follow a proper feeding and exercising program and do not overfeed. Change to adult food around 12 months of age.
It is imperative to your dog’s nutritional health and long-life, that we ask you to continue with a quality Small/Medium breed puppy food. Buyer should seek regular checkups with a veterinarian and keep dog up-to-date on all vaccinations, etc...and keep records of these visits.
Any vet bills that the buyer incurs will be paid by the buyer.
STERILIZATION: Unless breeding rights are discussed and agreed upon, our puppies are sold as pets and buyers are required to neuter a male dog by nine months or spay females by twelve months of age. Exceptions can be made if the puppy is undersized at that age but must be reported to the seller. Any dog not sterilized by the above ages, will void this health guarantee in full. Any pet purchased that is not sterilized and is found to be used for breeding will be in breach of this contract and is punishable by law and you will be required to pay for breeding rights, which is $1000 to $2000.
If for any reason you need to rehome your puppy, you MUST contact PuppyLove Poodles first! Puppies can not be surrendered to an animal shelter for any reason. Puppies cannot be resold without the authorization of the owner of PLP. We will help you rehome your puppy. We understand that life changing events may make this necessary.
Parvo and vaccines: Puppies can get parvo from other dogs or in the ground where other infected dogs have pooped. Parvo is most common in puppies 2 to 6 months old and can be fatal. Most of our puppies can leave at 8 weeks old. They have had Neopar treatments prior to leaving our care. You should provide this information to your vet and follow up with the appropriate additional vaccinations. Parvo incubation period is 6-10 days. We will only guarantee against parvo if your puppy is diagnosed within 10 days of the puppy leaving our care.
Until your puppy is fully vacinated please attempt to avoid: other animals, public grounds such as at airports, rest areas, grass, dirt, floor at vet’s office, dog parks, pet stores, gas stations etc. Assume every dog at the vet is sick. Assume every surface at the vet is contaminated. Do not touch the other dogs and do not let strangers touch your dog.
Our health guarantee is for genetic faults with heart, liver and kidneys, not for stress related issues or accidents. By signing below, I understand that I am responsible for all veterinary care and understand we do not offer any type of reimbursement for this.
Other exclusions to this guarantee: reactions to vaccines, over vaccinating, food or environmental allergies, reactions to flea/tick treatments, any eye or eyelid problems that appear after the first vet check. Seller does not guarantee the coat color, size or temperament of the puppy.
PuppyLove Poodles requires puppies to be picked up or transported to their new homes between week 8 and 10 or within 14 days of purchase. Puppies which remain in the care of PuppyLove Poodles beyond 10 weeks, or 14 days after purchase date will be incur a daily boarding fee and/or additional charges for vaccinations, vet visits and basic care. If a transport company is used the puppy must be paid for in full before leaving PLP.
