IMPORTANT: The waste must be counted before any employees take anything home. Photos of the display at closing must be taken before any waste is taken or processed.
Before moving forward, please ensure you understand the definitions of the reasons and destinations of waste that are necessary to fill out this form accurately.
Waste Reason:
- Expiration - Product that has exceeded its shelf life and can no longer be sold as the original product.
- Damaged - Product that has been dropped, crushed, contaminated, etc. due to something outside of the production process.
- Sample - Product that has been set aside for customer or employee sampling.
Waste Destination
- Trash - Product that goes into the trash because it cannot be repurposed or donated for one reason or another.
- Upcycle - Product that is repurposed to produce another product of value, e.g. Twice Baked Pastries, Sliced Bread.
- Donation - Product that is set aside to be donated to charity. Please ensure you take a photo of the donation compilation at the end of this form.
- Freezer - Product that will be frozen and sold again, usually at Main Street Harvest.
- Sample - Product that has been set aside for customer or employee sampling.
UPDATE: Defective (Overproofed/underproofed, deformed, burnt, or in any way defective due to a faulty production process and can no longer be sold as the original product) products should now be reported separately in the Defective Product Report.
