Thank you for taking the time to prayerfully consider being involved with a New Song YTH Discipleship Group and Leadership Team! We pray that this next season will be a dynamic and fruitful one for you as you are discipled, mentored, and coached.
In this form, you can sign up for JUST a Discipleship Group OR you can sign up for both a Discipleship Group and Leadership Team. You must be in a Discipleship Group to be in a Leadership Team however you do NOT need to be in a Leadership Team if you are in a Discipleship Group. The commitment for both is a year long and we will be going through the "Following Jesus" CORE4 Resource this fall/winter.

TECH POLICY
New Song YTH is a safe place where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus without distraction. One way we ensure this is by making it a technology-free zone for students. From the beginning of our gatherings until dismissal, from Discipleship Groups to Leadership Teams, for the entirety of our youth gathering, students are able to fully participate without any need for their own personal technology. We will provide Bibles, pens, journals, and anything students might need in order to engage.
By joining a Discipleship Group and/or Leadership Team, you agree to:
- Help uphold the phone and tech policy
- Encourage other students to keep youth a tech-free zone
- Keep phones and tech stored out of sight for the duration of our gatherings
We understand that there may be instances or exceptions where a student must have a phone or smartwatch with them for health and emergency communication purposes. In such a case, please connect with Pastor Grant, Macey Fernandez or your student’s discipleship group leader about the situation. Also, please know that you can reach your child, and they you, at any youth gathering by contacting Pastor Grant at 859.312.9668.

COVENANT STATEMENTS
We read in Matthew 5:37 about Jesus calling His followers to be people who keep their word. “...Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’” And we also see in Psalm 15:4, that David says the character of one who may abide in God’s temple must be one who “swears to his own hurt.” As New Testament believers, we recognize that by God’s grace, we can do the things He calls us to do and that we are fully able to fulfill our commitments with His help.
By signing up for a Discipleship Group (and Leadership Team if it applies), I agree to the following statements:
- I commit to do the required work necessary to show up to my Discipleship Group (and Leadership Team if it applies) fully prepared with what has been asked of me.
- I have read and agree to the phone and technology guidelines. (listed above)
- I recognize that being a part of a Discipleship Group (and Leadership Team if it applies) is a sacrifice that will require the majority of my Saturday evenings, but barring emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, I will do my best, by grace through faith, to be present and engaged at each group time.
- Should I need to miss a discipleship group (or Leadership Team if it applies), I will (with the partnership of my parent) communicate to my Discipleship Group leader (or Leadership Team Director if it applies) as to the reason for my absence and commit to complete any work missed.
- I recognize that my conduct matters for the kingdom of God and, by grace through faith, I will live a life that brings glory to God through what I say, dress, watch, listen to, post to social media, etc.
