  • November 4-5, 2023 | February 3-4, 2024 | April 20-21, 2024

    All three sessions will be held in person at the IFT Healey Center in Westmont, IL

  • IFT’s Union Leadership Institute (ULI) program has been designed to meet the needs of both new and experienced local leaders and activists in all IFT constituency groups. Our 2023-24 ULI Courses will include:

    • Boot Camp for Union Leaders
    • Building and Sustaining Union Power (Must enroll in teams of 2 or more)
    • Effective Grievance Administration
    • Introduction to Collective Bargaining (this class canceled due to low enrollment)

    Courses are presented over three weekend-long sessions. Participants must attend all three sessions in order to complete the training.

    Training for each session will be on Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and on Sundays, 9:00 a.m. - noon.

    REGISTRATION FEES are $125.00 per weekend session ($375.00 for the year)

    LODGING is available for $125.00 per night for single accommodations or $62.00 per night for double accommodations.

    • 2-night stays will be for Friday and Saturday, and 1-night stays will be for Saturday.
    • Roommates must be registered ULI participants for the double room rate.

    COVID-19 To help ensure the health and safety of all participants and staff, ALL participants must provide proof of a negative COVID test dated no more than 48 hours before the start of each session.

    Enrollment is limited for each course and registration applications will be processed in the order they are received. Classes will only be held with a minimum enrollment of 8 participants per class.

    Participants will receive a registration confirmation, agendas for each weekend, and other course materials via the e-mail address provided on the enrollment form.

    CANCELATION requests should be submitted to btwillie@ift-aft.org before 5 p.m. on October 30th. Participants who cancel after this date or who are "no-shows" will be responsible for the full registration fee. 

    The registration deadline is October 6, 2023, and is open to IFT members only.

  • HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

    Overnight accommodations will be available for each ULI session. Please designate your anticipated needs for each ULI session. Participants will have the option of adding or changing their accommodations for future sessions as needed.

  • SPECIAL COVID NOTE:

    All ULI participants and staff will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID test dated no earlier than 48 hours before the start of each session.
