Altitude Scholarships believes all young people deserve the chance to realise their potential. Through modest educational scholarships we can transform young lives and create far reaching opportunities for success.
Scholarship Terms
- Each scholarship costs $1,500 per year plus an admin fee of $50 (cost recovery only), with an option of a further $100 or other donation to assist Altitude Scholarships to support other students without a sponsor.
- A scholarship lasts for the duration of a young person’s education, commencing in senior secondary school and throughout their tertiary studies, until they are employed, subject to an annual review and is for educational expenses only.
- The scholarship will commence in the nominated year and is for the first degree/qualification only, unless as agreed between the Sponsor and Altitude Scholarships. The sponsorship may commence at any stage during the year, then will join the annual payment cycle of payment due on 1 January each year of the scholarship. The student will receive the funds by 15th January each year for the duration of the scholarship.
- If the recipient takes a gap year, or for other valid reasons takes a break from study, there will be no payment required during this period. Recommencement of the scholarship will be at the discretion of Altitude Scholarships in consultation with the Sponsor.
- When the recipient has completed their degree and the scholarship ends, the Sponsor may elect to rollover to another scholarship and support another recipient.
Sponsor Interaction
- A meeting with the scholarship recipient may be arranged if required, but if the recipient is under 18yrs of age, the meeting can only take place on school grounds with parental and school permission and if the Sponsor has a Blue Card.
- The Sponsor is to alert Altitude Scholarships if any there are issues with the recipient or if the recipient does not communicate regularly.
- The minimum expectation for communication from the recipient to the Sponsor is four updates per year.
- The Sponsor may offer work experience to the recipient at any stage during the scholarship. This can be arranged directly with the school/university and after consultation with Altitude Scholarships.
Termination
In accordance with Altitude Scholarships’ policies, the scholarship may be terminated by the Sponsor:
- If the recipient ceases to meet the eligibility criteria, other than during a period where the scholarship has been deferred; or
- If the recipient does not resume study at the conclusion of an agreed period of deferral.
- Amendments to this MOU.
- Any amendment or alteration to this MOU shall have effect only upon being made in writing and executed by the Sponsor and Altitude Scholarships.
Agreement
The Sponsor is aware that this is an ongoing commitment to support a student for the remaining duration of their education commencing on the start date specified below and that there is a $50 p.a. admin fee for the bespoke scholarship in addition to the $1500 per year scholarship.
