Mediation Process
The Aurit Center’s success has always been about making choices that are aligned with our core values. Our mediation process is simple, caring, strategic, honest, positive, and mindful.
We structure our process in a way that:
- aligns with our core values,
- is grounded in fundamental beliefs about conflict resolution,
- works ideally for mediation clients, and
- creates a thriving and sustainable mediation practice.
Our Mediation Partners embrace certain proven Aurit Center mediation process practices in their work with Aurit Center referrals. Aside from these basic practices, as a Mediator Partner you design and approach your process your way. We believe in you being you!
Mediator Partners offer Aurit Center referrals:
- a free initial one-hour consultation with both spouses present;
- a flat fee for mediation services (Partners can follow The Aurit Center’s flat fee approach, using our flat fee-sheet templates or their own flat fee structure);
- 2-hour mediation meetings;
- joint mediation meetings with the flexibility to caucus;
- responses to client communications within two business days;
- clear legal information so that clients understand state law;
- online meetings via a video conferencing platform that is compatible with Calendly (i.e. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoTo Meeting, or Webex);
- mediation services only (not legal representation); and
- a list of professional legal advisors that support mediation.
Additionally, Mediator Partners:
- use a Calendar that is compatible with Calendly (i.e. Google, Outlook, Microsoft Office, or iCloud/Apple);
- carry current and sufficient malpractice insurance that specifically covers their mediation practice;
- have never lost any license or certification, in any field, due to sanctions or disciplinary action;
- conduct comprehensive domestic violence screenings before and during mediation based on mediation best practices to ensure client safety and appropriateness for mediation; and
- acknowledge adherence to the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators adopted by the American Bar Association, Association for Conflict Resolution, and American Arbitration Association.
