We are so excited to host the Highland Dance Competition at the McMinnville Scottish Festival for a third year!

A Late Fee of $20 will be imposed for all entries posted after September 23rd

Saturday Dance Schedule:
- Primary: 16 PDBs, PDBs & HCs, Fling (4), Sword (2&1)
- Beginner: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1)
- Novice: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1)
- Intermediate: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1), Sailor's Hornpipe (4), Half Tulloch (4)
- Premier: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1), Half Tulloch (4), Sailor's Hornpipe (4)
- Special Premier Event: Sailor's Hornpipe (4) Challenge - Dancers finishing first, second or third in aggregate points in his/her age group qualify to dance in the challenge event. Money for Under 16 - 1st - $80.00, 2nd - $40.00, 3rd - $20.00. 16 and over 1st - $100.00, 2nd - $50.00, 3rd - $25.00

- Primary: 16 PDBs, PDBs & HCs, Fling (4), Sword (2&1)
- Beginner: Scottish Lilt (4), Flora MacDonald's Fancy (4)
- Novice: Scottish Lilt (4), Flora MacDonald's Fancy (4)
- Intermediate: Scottish Lilt (4), Flora MacDonald's Fancy (4), Jig (3&1)
- Premier: Scottish Lilt (4), Earl of Errol (4), Jig (3&1)
- Intermediate and Premier Solo Choreograpy (Only on Sunday)
- Intermediate and Premier Duo Choreography (Only on Sunday) - Only one of the duo need to register for this, please coordinate with your partner to make sure you don't double-register. Please make sure to include your partner's name in the appropriate field.
Medals will be awarded to Pre-Premier dancers and Premier dancers. Dancers in the oldest Premier group will receive cash awards. 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20, 4th - $15, 5th - $10, 6th - $5

Competition Rules
1. First to enter, last to dance.
2. Dance competition will run under the rules of the RSOBHD.
3. Age is determined as of October 7th, 2023.
4. Classes will be broken after the closing date of registration.
5. Any dancer causing a delay may forfeit their place in the event.
6. Dancer numbers will be picked up on the day of the competition, nothing will be mailed.
7. All judges' decisions are final. A $20 protest fee must accompany any formal written proposals.
8. It is the responsibility of the dancer to abide by the 3-Month Rule (may not have taken any in-person or online classes or workshops with the judge three months prior to the event).
9. No refund of entry fees unless competition is cancelled.
10. Entry fees are non-transferable.
11. Medals will be awarded to Pre-Premier dancers and Premier dancers. Dancers in the oldest Premier group will receive cash awards. 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20, 4th - $15, 5th - $10, 6th - $5
12. Trophy will be awarded to the dancer with the highest overall points in each class, except for the Primary class.
Solo and Duo Choreography Rules
- Solo and Duo Choreography - Open to Intermediate and Premier dancers (only on Sunday)
- Must supply own music using iPhone or mp3
- Must have Celtic theme and use Highland/National movements
- Maximum of 3 minutes
- No stamp is given in choreography
