Our education program offers different length pathways. Each pathway has its own syllabus. The four and six month pathway include business mentorship and the choice of an elective. The different program lengths are as follows:

Two Month Pathway

The 2 month pathway is ideal for those who have already received hands-on training in a salon environment (at least six months or more). They are comfortable with most services and techniques, but want to refine their skills and establish a clientele. This accelerated pathway does not include business mentorship or electives - it only provides training in our standard of haircuts and color services. Expected completion between 30 and 60 days.

Four Month Pathway

The 4 month pathway is ideal for those who have limited hands-on training in a salon environment (less than 6 months). They feel confident in some techniques and knowledge, but want a structured training and refinement. They want to work with models, build a clientele, and comprehensive training in business strategy. Expected completion between 90 and 120 days.

Six Month Pathway

The 6 month pathway is ideal for those who have no hands-on experience in a salon environment. They want to learn techniques, skill, and knowledge. They have only performed services in a school setting. They want to work with models and build a clientele. Expected completion between 150 and 180 days.

The training program employs the trainee as a full-time salon assistant for the duration of their pathway length. Salon assistants will be employed at an hourly rate with tips. Salon assistants are expected to work 25-35 hours per week.

Duties of the salon assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:

Directly assisting Larella Ellsworth and other stylists of Tigerlily Salon with clients and hair services. This includes resetting hair stations, washing and blow drying clients, sweeping hair, foiling, and mixing color.
Assisting in salon maintence and cleanliness in tangent with the front desk, this includes sweeping, taking out trash, washing color bowls, washing shampoo sinks, stocking supplies and amenities, and weekly deep cleaning duties.
Participating in educational videos and coursework.
Taking on clients and performing hair services on the floor during a trial period before completion of program.
