ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
I am aware that ice-skating, hockey, broomball and/or other activities at the facility involve inherent risks, dangers and hazards, which can result in serious personal injury or death. I am also aware that ice skating rinks and arenas contain dangers that can cause serious injury or death. I hereby freely agree to assume and accept all known and unknown risks of injury arising out of ice-skating and/or broomball activities. I recognize and acknowledge that risks of ice-skating, hockey, and or broomball can be greatly reduced by: taking lessons, abiding by the Responsibility Code and using common sense.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS AGREEMENT:
For allowing me to participate in public skating, hockey, broomball activities and/or other activities at the San Diego Ice Arena, I agree to the fullest extent permitted by law, as follows:
1) TO WAIVE ALL CLAIMS that I have or may have against the San Diego Ice Arena and its owners and affiliates, arising out of public skating, hockey, and/or broomball.
2) TO RELEASE the San Diego Ice Arena and its owners and affiliates from liability for any loss, damage injury, or expense that I (or my next of kin, parent, guardian, estate) may suffer arising out of ice skating, hockey, and/or broomball activities from any cause whatsoever, including negligence or breach of contract on the part of the San Diego Ice Arena in the operation, supervision, design, or maintenance of its facility.
Covid-19
San Diego Ice Arena is open following an extended period of closure in response to the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic and is adhering to state/local restrictions. As you may already be aware, COVID-19 is a highly communicable virus that can cause severe respiratory illness, sometimes leading to death. Protecting our guests and employees is our number one priority. With that priority in mind, San Diego Ice Arena is taking numerous steps to reduce the potential for COVID-19 spread in this facility. Some of these steps include enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures as well as comprehensive physical distancing protocols. For the health and safety of our employees and guests we ask everyone to follow the following rules:
- Wear a face mask at all times when inside the facility if not vaccinated for COVID-19.
Once equipment is installed, staff and customers may be temperature monitored.
- Do not enter the facility if you feel ill, have a fever or cough, or are short of breath.
- Do not enter the facility if you have been in close physical contact within the last 14 days with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes.
- Abide by physical distancing rules by keeping 6 feet (about two arms lengths) away from others.
- Use hand sanitizer before entering the facility.
- If you have a medical history that places you in a high-risk category for COVID-19, it is recommended you do not enter the facility.
Even with these precautions in place, the San Diego Ice Arena cannot eliminate all risk associated with COVID-19. By choosing to make use of this facility, guests are assuming the risk that they may contract COVID-19 at the facility despite San Diego Ice Arena best efforts to provide a clean, safe environment.
Because of rapidly changing circumstances and new laws, these procedures are subject to change by SDIA at any time in the sole discretion of management in order to maximize safety for everyone.
