    Note: If you'll plan on attending the "Percussion Basics for Choir Directors", you are welcome to bring all or a few of the following so you can play along: Dumbek, Djembe, Cajón, Conga, Bongo, Shakare.

  • Payment Dispute Notice
    If you have an problem with your transaction (e.g., if you believe that you have been charged twice), please contact CCDA to resolve it.  Email our Executive Administrator at exec_admin@calcda.org instead of contacting PayPal, because we can generally resolve these issues more quickly and easily on our end.  If you choose to contact PayPal to dispute a payment, they will charge CCDA a fee of $20 for each dispute, and we will pass the fee on to you.

  • Sexual Harassment Policy
    California Choral Directors Association (CCDA) is committed to maintaining a safe, productive, and enjoyable environment with an atmosphere of equality and respect. Harassment based upon an individual's sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, immigration status, or any other personal or physical characteristic will not be tolerated. All members, regular employees, contracted employees, participants, volunteers, and board of directors and advisory council members are expected to abide by this policy. In addition, no person will be adversely affected in their relationship with CCDA as a result of bringing complaints of harassment.  

    Prohibited Conduct
    A.  Harassment is defined as any behavior that creates a hostile environment characterized by vicious, frequent, or reprehensible conduct based on sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, immigration status, or any other personal or physical characteristic. Examples of harassing conduct include, but are not limited to

    • Bullying or intimidation
    • Racial or ethnic slurs
    • Posting or distribution of derogatory bulletins, pictures, cartoons, or other material
    • Offensive humor
    • Derogatory comments or remarks concerning a person's characteristics

    B.  Sexual harassment is any behavior of a sexual nature that is unwelcome and offensive to the person or persons it is targeted toward. Use of the perpetrator's computing devices for the purpose of disseminating material that is sexual in nature or derogatory toward an individual may also constitute harassing behavior. Examples of sexually harassing behavior can include

    • Unwanted physical contact, such as patting, touching, or brushing against another's body inappropriately
    • Foul language of an offensive sexual nature
    • Sexual propositions or pressure for sexual activity
    • Sexually oriented or gender-oriented jokes or offensive remarks
    • Obscene gestures
    • Displays of pornographic or sexually explicit pictures, drawings, or caricatures
    • "Kidding" or "teasing"  in a sexually oriented manner

    Sexual harassment is considered a form of sex discrimination and is prohibited by the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1991 (Title VII) when submission is an explicit, implicit, or implied condition of membership, or when submission to or rejection of the conduct is used as a basis for a personnel decision affecting the individual being harassed.

    Disciplinary Action
    Any members, regular employees, contracted employees, participants, volunteers, and board of directors and advisory council members who engage in improper harassing behavior will be subject to disciplinary action, including the possible termination of their relationship with CCDA. Should an attendee be asked to leave an official CCDA event, no refunds will be given.
