Welcome to the Black Art Festival's Artist Registration. We are excited to provide a platform for Black Creatives to be celebrated in our local community.

Submissions are open to people of all ages, from young artists to experienced creators. Regardless of whether you're just starting your artistic journey or you've been honing your craft for years, you're welcome to participate in the festival.

Your submission and performances will be voted on by the local community who attend in person. There will also be Virtual Voting for those who are not able to attend in person. Below is an overview of the submission process and criteria for festival. All artist who are selected to be featured in the festival are required to attend, in person.

Artisti Criteria For Submissions

Artwork Medium:
We accept submissions across a variety of artistic mediums, including but not limited to:
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Photography
- Digital Art
- Mixed Media
- Installation Art
- Performance Art
- Video Art
- Textile Art

Originality
All submitted artworks must be original creations of the submitting artist. Plagiarism and infringement of copyrighted material will result in disqualification. Artwork that includes assistance from Artificial Intelligence is accepted.

Theme and Content
The theme is focused on celebrating black art & artwork created by Black  creatives. Submissions should be respectful of diverse perspectives and should not promote hate, discrimination, or innappropriate content, including celebrations of drug use alchohol use, sexual acts or nudity. 

Size and Dimensions
For physical artworks or installations, please provide accurate dimensions, weight, and installation requirements. For digital submissions, ensure that the file size and resolution meet our technical specifications.

Submission Format
Follow the submission guidelines provided on the festival's website. This may include image files (JPEG, PNG), video files (MP4, AVI), or other digital formats. Include artist information, title, description, and any necessary context.

Artist Statement
Include a brief artist statement that explains the concept, inspiration, and significance of your artwork. This helps the audience connect with your creative process.

Submission Fee:
There is no submission fee to submit your artwork, but we do ask for a donation to help to our Local Black Creators Fund to help empower local creative initiatives in our commiunity. 

Deadlines:
Submission Deadline is september 28, or will all creative feature spots are filled.

Permissions and Usage Rights
Your submitted artwork will be displayed at the festival and on our website, with your contact information, to ensure our attendees are able to follow up with you to purchase your artwork.  We do not take a commission off the sale of your artwork.  We are celebrating and displaying you artwork only.

Judging and Selection
Artworks will be reviewed by gallery curators. Selection criteria may include artistic quality, originality, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.

Notification
Once the judging process is complete, artists will be notified about the status of their submission. Accepted artists will receive instructions regarding display, installation, and any additional requirements.
