Welcome to the Northumberland Scouts Couny equipment form. On the next page you will see a list of all of the equipment currently held by the County that is available to borrow by Leaders & Groups.
Please note that all requests for equipment must be approved by County Office before the equipment can be collected. You will receive an email from County Office approving or denying your request after submission.
Check the calendar below to see if the equipment you'd like to reserve is available, then press 'Next' to continue.
There is no charge, but all Leaders accept full responsibility for the safe return at the end of the expedition.
The devices are charged via USB and will be provided to you fully charged. If you are collecting the devices from another Leader, you may be required to charge the devices before use.
The details you enter on the next page will be entered onto the device(s) before they are taken on the expedition. Your emergency contact numbers will be alterted if the SOS function on the devices are activated.
Before these devices can be used on an expedition, you will need to provide us with a copy of the route(s) being followed on the expedition. You can view instructions on how to create & export your route(s) as .gpx files in the video below.
We require 1 .gpx file per route, per day.
If the video above does not display, click here.
Create your routes on the OS Maps website here. You will need an account on OSmaps.com in order to create custom routes.
If you do not have the details of your expedition finalised before filling out this form, or you do not have an OSMaps account/subscription, you will be able to indicate that on the next page.
The device(s) will activate within 30 minutes of the time entered below. In order to make the tracking as accurate as possible, please give us the closest starting time for your expedition that you can.
You can have up to 3 emergency contacts added onto the device(s) for your expedition.
They will receive access to the live map of your device(s), as well as an alert if the SOS function is used on the device(s).
If you do not have your route(s) finalised at the time of reserving the devices, please indicate that below and we will email you closer to the date of your expedition to remind you.
Please give your .gpx files clear names (i.e. day 1, day 2 etc.)
Please select below whether you want to collect this equipment from Scout House, or you plan to collect it from another Leader in the County.
Scout House opening hours are:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:00
County staff require time to make the equipment ready for collection, so factor this into your booking (i.e. please do not book equipment at 8:00pm on a Friday evening expecting it to be ready for collection 8:30am the following Monday).
You can contact us at equipment@northumberlandscouts.org.uk to discuss collection if needed.
There may be some cases where you can arrange to collect equipment directly from another Leader. Please note that if you intend to collect the satellie trackers or two-way radios from another Leader you may be required to charge the devices prior to use.
