SCSU offers annual social justice and anti-racism grants to the campus community to support projects of many different types that demonstrate a value of equity, diversity, a climate of inclusion, and which challenge injustice. Grants are available to support creative/scholarly activities, events, and initiatives related to social justice and anti-racism. All members of the SCSU community are welcome to apply, including faculty, staff, and students. Interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaborations are encouraged.
Examples of Fundable Activities
- Interactive workshops
- Panel and small-group discussions
- Research conducted by faculty, graduate students and/or undergraduates
- Social media and video projects
- Events and programs
- Honoraria for guest speakers
- Pilot projects demonstrating or testing feasibility for SCSU
Available Funding
Grants are available to be awarded in the amounts between $500 up to a max of $2500. Applicants will be considered only for the monetary category to which they apply. It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify and demonstrate that requested grant funds will adhere to SCSU policies for general operating funds, and then to manage all purchases in compliance with all university procedures. Grants funds may not be used to purchase electronics.
Grant recipients are responsible for ensuring that all applicable paperwork for travel, honoraria, personal service agreements, and vouchers are submitted to the appropriate SCSU department for processing.

Applicants must submit this application to be considered for an award. Upon submission, a committee will review your application within 10 business days of submission and notify you of your grant status.
