ALL UNITS
• To be considered for placement in the parade, every unit must submit a completed and signed Parade Application and Hold Harmless Agreement by the submission deadline: June 1, 2024.
• Every parade unit is subject to approval by the Clam Festival Committee;entrants will be contacted directly.
• Entries that are political, religious or controversial will not be accepted.
THE FOLLOWING IS PROHIBITED:
o Promotion of any kind, including business advertising, awareness building for causes and charities.
o Fundraising.
o Horns, sirens, or other loud artificial noisemakers.
SAFETY PROCAUTIONS ARE REQUIRED:
• NOTHING (including promotional material, coupons, candy, water, water balloons, and silly string) may be thrown, tossed, or passed out to, or at, parade spectators. • Participants and their organizations that violate this will be responsible for damages, and they will not be allowed to participate in the parade in future years.
• Riders should be either secured or positioned so that they cannot fall from floats.
• Walkers must keep a safe distance from moving vehicles and have good visibility in any costume.
• Youth participants must be supervised by an adult.
FLOATS
Float design must be family oriented, entertaining for all ages, and consistent with the parade theme.
• Floats may use signage with the following guidelines:
o One sign no larger than 8 square feet (e.g., 2' x 4')
o Signs may enhance float design in a way that pertains to the parade’s theme.
o Signs may display an organization’s (business, non-profit, and school/camp) name, website, and phone number.
o Signs may identify a neighborhood float.
o A banner/sign identifying a business may be carried/displayed in the parade only if the business has paid for a parade sponsorship (if your business wishes to sponsor the parade, please contact the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce).
• Neighborhood floats are not restricted to Yarmouth neighborhoods.
• Each float must consist of only one vehicle, or one vehicle pulling one trailer, unless otherwise approved by the Parade Director (if possible, please use smaller trailers rather than large flatbeds for floats).
• Every float entry is subject to approval by the Parade Director upon receipt of a completed and signed Parade Application.
MARCHING UNITS/DRILL TEAMS/BANDS
• Marching units, drill teams, and marching bands may carry a banner with unit or organization name on it.
• Bands on vehicles may have signage on the vehicle with the band name on it.
THIS APPLICATION IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE CLAM FESTIVAL COMMITTEE. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU BY EMAIL OR PHONE OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE.
