MAKE "THE I WILL NOT BE SILENT PROMISE"

Drunk, drugged, and distracted drivers contribute to over fifty percent of all passenger vehicle fatalities in America. Shockingly, more than a third of these crashes involve passengers who have the potential to intervene but choose not to. Additionally, there are numerous bystanders who witness these drivers on the brink of engaging in dangerous actions and opt to remain silent. Interestingly, people readily voice their concerns when someone lights up a cigarette in a restaurant; however, the issue of impaired and distracted driving often goes unaddressed, revealing a troubling silence.

Being Silent Does Not Save Lives! Sometimes speaking up isn't easy. Often it can be downright scary and intimidating. But the reality is that by speaking up, we show that we care about the lives of our friends, family members, and even strangers. By standing up, we save lives.

To engage in positive change, it's up to all of us to make a difference. Never assume that someone else will do the right thing, that someone else will speak up, that someone else will have the courage to intervene.
