SCC - 2026 Senior Country Championships, each nominating Association is to provide referees for the championship who are to be included in the “pool” for rostering. The number of referees to be nominated by an Association at any one Championship will be 1 referee per team nominated.
For a referee to be considered “nominated” they must referee a minimum of 5 games for the tournament, multiple referees can share the required number of games for 1 nominated referee. Referee Coaches are not considered as part of “the pool of referees” therefore they are not counted towards the number of referees required.
Each referee will need to register as a referee within SA Country's Basketball Connect platform - CLICK HERE to register, as well as complete this form for availability.
U18 JCCs - 2026 U18 Country Championships will essentially be INVITE ONLY for referees. Referees wanting to be considered to referee at the U18 JCCs will need to complete the EOI nomination for this tournament, SA Country will then invite the successful referees to register. Successful applications will be considered based upon but not limited to: nominations, numbers, developement, experience.
U12 - U16 JCCs - We will be hosting games on Friday night at St Francis De Sale in Mount Barker and/or at the State Basketball Centre depending on number of teams interested in playing on the Friday.
As part of the 2025 Country Championships SA Country Basketball will be expanding the development opportunities for all referees and referee coaches.
There will be an expectation that referees that are playing also help out and referee a couple games a day to ensure we dont overload other referees, we will work around your game times and where possible will not roster directly before or straight after your game the more people that put their hand up the less games everyone has to do.
You will notice in the form we are not asking referees which venue they are available for, the reasoning for this is that referees will be rostered to games in line with their accreditation, experience, and performance.
This will best allow each referee to be assessed and receive feedback on games in line with their accreditation. If you are playing we will check which venue you are playing at and roster accordingly.
In order to be classed as a nominated referee for your associaiton there is a minimum requirement of 5 games to be refereed over a tournament, as per the SA Country Country Championships Rules of Operation (11.4) This can be shared between multiple referees but only 1 payment of $50 will be paid to the association.
Each referee will need to register as a referee within SA Country's Basketball Connect platform - CLICK HERE to register. as well as complete this form for availability.
