Carriage Stone/Monticello Sidewalk Survey (Neighborhood)

Residents in the Carriage Stone - Monticello neighborhood have submitted a petition for the installation of sidewalks on these streets.

At the August 10, 2023, Streets and Sidewalks Committee meeting, residents discussed ideas, concerns, and elements of a sidewalk installation project. Village administration is now issuing a survey to obtain individual feedback from each residence within the neighborhood to indicate sidewalk preferences. One (1) survey response per residence is permitted.

Each sidewalk option shows potential placement and an estimated assessment amount for each parcel. All parcels on both Carriage Stone and Monticello would be assessed for sidewalk installation, regardless of which option is selected. Assessments are typically paid at one time or over multiple years yet to be determined.

Actual assessment amounts would be dependent upon final construction costs. The project as presented assumes funding by full assessment to the property owners that receive benefit.

Survey results and next steps will be discussed at a November Streets and Sidewalks Committee meeting.
