    What’s the difference?

    Employee (W2)
    If you don’t have experience, you should choose "employee". Don’t worry, experience is not required. We can train you to clean, all you need is a great attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

    Contractor (1099)
    If you already have some professional cleaning experience, you can choose to apply as a contractor or as an employee.

    Keep in mind that as a contractor you will be responsible for paying your own taxes and you are not eligible for Maid Easy benefits. Also as a contractor, you are required to have the following:

    • Professional cleaning experience
    • Your own supplies and equipment (we can lease ours to you 😉)
    • Liability insurance (we can help you get set up for as little as $29 / mo.)
    • Be 100% responsible for breakage and damages

While contractors earn higher percentages per job and have the potential to earn up to $1300 a week, it's important to note your responsibility for taxes at year-end.
    As a contractor, you're in charge of your own supplies, but don't worry—we offer convenient leasing options to ensure you're equipped for success.
