Calling all salsa enthusiasts! Join Otero College Salsa Contest at HSI Fest, where your secret recipes and unique flavors could earn you the title of Salsa Champion! Whether you prefer it mild and tangy or daringly spicy, this is your chance to share with fellow salsa lovers.
Your homemade salsa will be entered to win in the following categories:

Time: Please have your salsa at the stadium by 3:30 PM
Entry Fee for Salsa Competition: $5
All proceeds will go towards an Otero College scholarship opportunity for our students.
Please read the submission instructions below and register for the event. Otero College will provide chips, plates, cups, and spoons for tasting.
- Bring 1 quart of homemade salsa with a list of ingredients
- Bring your entry to our Salsa Registration & Tasting Booth at Tiger Stadium by 3:30 PM
- Tasting and voting will run from 4:30 - 7:00 PM during the Men's and Women's soccer games.
- Overall Winner receives custom salsa wreath
- People’s Choice receives Otero swag basket
