Immunization Requirments
Massachusetts law requires students 30 years old and younger to provide documentation of the immunizations listed below prior to enrollment and registration in any postsecondary institution. This includes students on student visas or other visas and students attending or visiting classes or programs as part of an academic visitation or exchange program. Students can upload their immunization records and complete other health documents by logging into the Lesley medical portal at Lesley.medicatconnect.com.
Tdap: 1 dose AND a history of a DTaP primary series or age appropriate catch-up vaccination. Tdap given at ≥7 years may be counted, but a dose at age 11-12 is recommended if Tdap was given earlier as part of a catch-up schedule. Td should be given if it has been ≥10 years since the last Tdap.
Hepatitis B: 3 doses OR laboratory evidence of immunity.
MMR: The first dose must be given on or after the 1st birthday and the 2nd dose must be given ≥28 days after dose 1. Laboratory evidence of immunity is also acceptable.
Varicella: 2 doses. The first dose must be given on or after the 1st birthday and the 2nd dose must be given ≥28 days after the first dose. Laboratory evidence of immunity is acceptable.
Meningococcal: 1 dose of MenACWY (formerly MCV4) is required for all students 21 years of age or younger living in residence halls. The dose of MenACWY vaccine must have been received on or after the student’s 16th birthday. Doses received at younger ages do not count towards this requirement. Students may decline MenACWY vaccine after they have read and signed the MDPH Meningococcal Information and Waiver Form. Meningococcal B vaccine is not required and does not meet this requirement.
Influenza and COVID Immunizations: The University strongly encourages all students to receive an annual influenza vaccine and to be up to date on COVID vaccines and boosters according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.
Lesley University reserves the right to prevent students who have not submitted proof of immunization from registering for classes and living in the residence halls. In the event of a campus outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease, students who have not submitted proof of immunization will be required to live off campus until it is deemed safe for their return, and they may be restricted from participating in other aspects of academic life and student activities.
