    The GMEA Recognition and Awards Program is a comprehensive effort to recognize excellence in achievement by members and those whom GMEA serves. Purposes of the program are to:

    - Focus attention on exemplary achievements in music education in Georgia.

    - Increase awareness of the quality of the diverse activities of music education in our state.

    - Foster professional and public recognition of the commitment and achievement of music educators and students.

  •  GMEA Music Educator of the Year Award

    Eligibility: Active members of GMEA

    Purpose: The GMEA District and State Level Music Educator of the Year has been redesigned and will recognize outstanding music educators across Georgia whose service to students, schools, communities, and the teaching profession are exemplary.  

    Recipients:  A District Level Music Educator of the Year will be chosen from each of the 14 GMEA Districts and one of these recipients will be chosen as the State Music Educator of the Year.  The District and State Music Educators of the Year will be recognized at the General Session of the In-Service Conference!
