Concert Attire Guidelines

 

Proper Fit and Appearance

• While wearing concert footwear, pants should be hemmed to Half Break. Dresses should be hemmed for ease of walking.
• Garments should be free of wrinkles, stains and damage. Use a low heat setting with a cloth between the garment and iron to press

Footwear Requirements

• Solid black closed-toe dress shoes, flats or 1 - 1 ½ “ heels. Boots are not approved for formal concert attire.
• Solid black dress socks with pants and skin-toned or black stockings or tights with dresses.

General Performance Guidelines

• It is extremely important to arrive at every performance ready and ON TIME. This means all students are wearing their concert attire as outlined above.
• Hair needs to be styled to keep it from falling into the face while performing. Ways to achieve this include braiding the hair, using gel and hairspray, or using hair clips or headbands to prevent the hair from covering the eyes. Hair clips should be small and as neutral as possible. Headbands should be either black to match the concert attire or the same color as the hair. Bright and bold colored hair accessories are not approved for performances.
• If wearing makeup, it should look as natural and subtle as possible. Brightly colored makeup, overly black lined or dark shadowed eyes, and bold lip colors are not approved for performances.
• Small individual jewelry is fine to wear. Brightly colored jewelry and accessories are not approved as they can distract from the performance.

 

*Please note that Choir dresses differ between ensembles and you could use the dress only for one year based on student's level. 

**Option to buy new and used choir dresses are offered for the first time this year.
