  • Recreational Therapy Assistant (Part Time/ Full Time)

    Job Description:

    We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Recreational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Recreational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed recreational therapists to implement therapeutic activities and programs designed to improve the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our clients.

    Responsibilities:
    - Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of recreational therapy programs.
    - Engage clients in a variety of therapeutic activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, and outdoor excursions.
    - Collaborate with recreational therapists to assess clients' needs and progress.
    - Maintain accurate records of client participation and behavior during therapy sessions.
    - Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients, addressing any concerns promptly.
    - Provide assistance with the setup and cleanup of therapy sessions.
    - Provide transportation to and from recreational activities.

    Qualifications:
    - Minimum of a college post-secondary diploma in a relevant field; additional education or certification in recreational therapy is a plus.
    - Previous experience in a similar role or a strong interest in recreational therapy.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    - Basic understanding of therapeutic principles and techniques.
    - Possession of a valid 'G' driver's license.
    - Reliable transportation for transporting clients to and from recreational activities.
    - CPR and First Aid certification required. 
    - Availability to work evenings and weekends is a plus. 
    - 20-40hrs a week
