The ANM plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to survivors of rape and sexual assault. The role of a MPHW includes the following:
- The ANM assists the Medical Officer.
- She provides First-Aid and extends required medical care to the victim as prescribed by the Medical Officer
- She maintains the Pharmacy and other Medical and nursing utilities at the Centre.
- She maintains the updated Medical Case Register & Medical History of the victim.
- She is responsible for accompanying the victim to the hospital for collection of forensic evidence and medical examination where the procedure is done in a designated hospital and not the Bharosa Centre.
- Provide assistance to victim in the admissions process in referral hospital.
- She will track, follow up the cases admitted in referral hospital.
- She will facilitate MTP/Abortion where required for the victim, at the authorized hospital,
- She will support in conducting delivery of the victim on a need basis.
